Are you looking to meet new friends?
Do you want to share your gardening or vegie growing knowledge?
Perhaps you want to learn how to grow your own fresh foods.
Do you have experience in working with tools and love building garden beds, sheds, seats etc?
Maybe you would like to help with our fundraising.
Is your home garden not suitable for you to work in?
Would you like to teach children how to grow vegies?
Do you have time to spare and want to give back to the community?
Then come and join us!
We have members of all ages, abilities and garden experience. There are members who are know a lot about growing veggies and are happy to share this. Others have little or no experience in growing veggies and are keen to learn. Some members are happy just to potter in the garden. And we have members who are more interested in the social side of meeting new friends.
It is important to point out that every member is expected to contribute to the garden. There are a lot of ways to help out such as attending the Sunday morning sessions, helping at a working bee, join the planting sub committee and share your knowledge, help at the sausage sizzle or street stall, nominate to be on the watering roster, join the committee, sell wine on our annual wine fundraiser or even help prepare morning tea on working bee days. Everyone of our members can contribute in some way to ensure our garden is a great communal activity.
We will need to raise funds to cover our expenses such as raised garden beds, water supply, tools and equipment, a storage shed, insurance and more. We will have lots of jobs to do building our raised timber garden beds, shifting soil and lots of other jobs. If that sounds like it interests you please come and help. Or maybe you have knowledge of composting, planting, worm farming & mulching that you would love to share. Please come and share in the fun!
